Will it come in the form of Ebola sweeping out of The Congo/West Africa? Will it be a SARS outbreak that starts in China? Will it be a mosquito-borne disease that makes Zika and Dengue seem like a common cold in comparison? Will it be a terrorist action that weaponizes a known or all new disease?
No one knows! But this we do know and major news organizations are increasingly running headlines with statements like “Global pandemic risk is growing — and the world isn’t ready”*
The fear factor then gets ratcheted up with true and terrifying statements like “international health experts and officials pointed to the 1918 influenza pandemic as an example of a global catastrophe. That killed as many as 50 million people — if a similar contagion happened today, it could kill up to 80 million people and wipe out 5% of the global economy.”**
Next comes the all too true warning that “The world is not prepared” – this from “the report from the Global Preparedness Monitoring Board (GPMB), co-convened by the World Bank and the World Health Organization (WHO)” that states “For too long, we have allowed a cycle of panic and neglect when it comes to pandemics: we ramp up efforts when there is a serious threat, then quickly forget about them when the threat subsides. It is well past time to act.”***

FSI concurs – the risk grows daily worldwide. When an event occurs there is often an emergency declared that loosens the purse strings and results in orders for critical products to help fight the disease. But the purse strings are immediately tightened and even closed as soon as the outbreak is brought under control and the Media headlines fade away. It would surely make sense to source and purchase and stock emergency response equipment such that it is in place when – not if – a localized or worldwide outbreak occurs.
FSI cannot control any of the above – but we can and do offer industry leading products that can and will help when – not if – this Global Pandemic Outbreak occurs.
FSI offers Isolation Chambers, Isolation Shelters, Isolation Rooms, Mobile Field Hospital Systems from 10 – 1000 beds, Decontamination Showers, Medical Field Cots, Disposable Backboards, and all manner of EMS supplies. All of these products are unique, industry leading, and offered at fair market prices though an established worldwide network of distributors.
